Prehnite Pseudomorph After Laumontite Gyrolite Large 217g

This is an outstanding, large Prehnite pseudomorph after Laumontite specimen with Gyrolite ball-like crystals. Crystallized Prehnite replaced prismatic crystals that were once Laumontite.  A less common mineral occurrence. 217 grams. Free domestic shipping. Click to buy!

This fine specimen features fascinating finger-like stalks, some stalactite-like, of pale, light blue-green Prehnite.  Some tiny, transparent, very lustrous cubes of Apophyllite are scattered across this fine Prehnite pseudomorph after Laumontite specimen. Crystallized on both sides, presenting as a epimorph; looking like where the Laumontite dissolved, leaving a cast appearance on the underside of the specimen. A very aesthetic specimen for your collection. Mineral collectors believe the availability of specimens of this type will be more and more rare as time passes.

Measures: 5.41" x 3.59" x 1.46" or 137.4mm x 91.1mm x 37.2mm.

Source: Thane District, Konkan Division, Maharashtra, India. Obtained from our contact that has a direct relationship with the owners of the mines in India.
