Some lighter green Epidote crystals also present on the underside of this specimen. While the luster and formation of the Epidote crystals on this specimen are exceptional, the Quartz crystals exhibit excellent quality, water clear transparency and fine terminations. The contrast between the deep, dark green, lustrous Epidote and the transparent, excellently terminated Quartz crystals is very appealing. It often forms lustrous, elongated and interconnected crystals that are highly coveted by collectors. While nearly all epidote is dominantly green it may present as many different shades of color from yellowish, yellow-green to deep, dark green. Epidote crystals with high luster and well formed are considered more valuable to gemologists and mineralogists.
