As documented by many peer reviewed studies and publications, including The Mineralogical Record, the darker the Pink Amethyst crystals, the more they are considered by many mineral specimen collectors, and the miners that find them, as higher in quality.  Though color is of highest regard, it does not solely define the grade or quality of each specimen as a whole.
