Smoky Quartz Complex Growth Hallelujah Junction 150g
This is Smoky Quartz that exhibits some fascinating complexity in that it shows water clear secondary growth Quartz that grew on or over another darker, almost root beer colored Quartz crystal. 3.07" x 1.58" x 1.36" or 78.2mm x 40.3mm x 34.7mm. A mouthful to describe because of the complex growth, we will give it an educated go here to provide the best accuracy it how this Smoky Quartz presents. Wonderfully characteristic of Hallelujah Junction pieces, the growth of the secondary Quartz presents unusual, exhibiting asymmetrical stepped or staggered structure. The edges of the faces and the termination of the secondary, upper, water clear Quartz are clean. The tip appears with a dip in it, it is not due to damage, it's caused by the atypical, stepped or staggered growth of the faces leading up to the termination. The facets and faces of the secondary growth crystal vary from slightly frosted to clear and lustrous, presenting with a nice shine. Zonation is primarily smoky root beer color in the lower, primary crystalline structure with water clarity in the secondary crystalline growth. Some bruising or chaffing caused during the mining of this piece is evident, otherwise the pricing of this specimen would be twice that listed. A more recent find, this truly interesting Smoky Quartz was collected during the 2021 mining season. 150 grams.
