Barite and Yellow Calcite Elk Creek South Dakota 130g

This is fine example of gemmy, lustrous, well defined, characteristic chisel tipped, terminated Barite crystals perched on many yellow Calcite crystals. Measures 3.5" x 1.5" x 2.18" or 88.9mm x 38.2mm x 55.4mm. Weighs 130 grams. The transparent amber or honey colored orthorhombic Barite crystals have a prominent presence on this piece. Some light scuffing and bruising is evident, however it does not take away from the overall beauty of the specimen. Interestingly, this combination of attractive minerals is found in septarian-like nodules in Meade County, South Dakota. This is a truly excellent Barite on Yellow Calcite piece that will be an excellent addition to your collection or to give as a gift.
