Unusual Columnar Poker Chip Calcite Pyrite Chalcopyrite Morocco 226g
This is a truly fascinating, unusual specimen of lustrous, bright white Columnar Poker Chip Calcite from Morocco.
The dot in the centers of the columns of Poker Chip Calcite is Pyrite and Chalcopyrite.
Each Poker Chip like Calcite crystal is growing "stacked" on top of another in a columnar fashion.
Curiously, the Calcite columns in this specimen from Morocco are probably a secondary growth formation.
The centers of the hexagonal Calcite columns appear to have been a primary growth of scalenohedral Calcite, which was later covered in fine pyrite and chalcopyrite, and subsequently the columnar calcite grew on top of the other two "layers" of minerals.
This is unusual Columnar Poker Chip Calcite specimen appears to present with two habits, hexagonal and scalenohedral.

The Story

Every piece we make starts with a question: who will wear this, and what moment will it mark? This design was inspired by the idea of carrying something meaningful close—a name, a date, or a memory. We work with artisans who share our belief that jewelry should tell a story and last generations.
