The darker pink crystals are representative of higher quality Pink Amethyst. The structure of the rosettes is absolutely superb. Both satin faced and lustrous crystals are evident in this specimen. Deep, dark pink color is due to the presence of increased occurrences of hematite, both internally and externally, giving the crystals an almost red-pink hue.  The terminations and faces of the crystals are well formed.

With that stated, we feel that when giving description with accuracy, the description of Pink Amethyst specimens must reference the possible variable color or intensities of pink hues that may be present; pink, pale lilac-pink, zoned peachy-pink, mauve-pink, deep dark pink, and even an almost red-pink. Varying levels of Hematite result in the presenting of varying intensities of pink color in Pink Amethyst.
