Opal var Hyalite Globular Botryoidal Strong Fluorescence 23g

This is a fascinating example of vitreous, creamy pale bluish or grayish white Opal var. Hyalite, or Hyalite Opal, nodule or geode bowl like form, presenting with a curious presentation of a characteristic botryoidal or globular structure.  1.62" x 1.67" x .73" or 41.6mm x 42.5mm x 18.7mm. A beautiful, distinguishing  feature of Hyalite Opal is that it glows a strong green fluorescence in UV light.
Though this Hyalite type of Opal does not exhibit the level of color play or opalescence often seen in precious Opal, it is still a great specimen to add to any display, especially when looking to obtain a collection that is more complete in all the types of Opal presenting on this planet.  The very fine, completely natural stress fractures amongst the botryoidal structure of the Opal in this specimen is representative of what happens when some of the water in this variety of Opal diminishes. Opal var. Hyalite is actually a 100% natural type of silica glass containing up to 8% water!  Truly an intriguing variety of Opal! 23 grams. Free domestic shipping.  International shipping available.  Click to buy.

Measures 1.62" x 1.67" x .73" or 41.6mm x 42.5mm x 18.7mm

Presenting overall as nodular or bumpy bowl like in composition, this eccentric examples of Opal var. Hyalite is from the Electric Opal Knob location in Zacatecas, Mexico.

****As a side note, interestingly, in gemology associations, the gem Hyalite variety (the specimen in this listing is not water clear gem quality) of Opal that is glass-like, is sometimes thought of as the purest opal and when cut into gems looks very much like glass.

Metaphysical consideration.  Opal lends itself well as a tool in lithotherapy or crystal healing and specifically for help in relief of muscular pain.  Opal is helpful in providing levels of recuperation for muscles that are painful due to stress caused by over use,  muscles that have been torn and damaged in some way.
